Good afternoon everyone! Today's personal forecast is casual, with a chance of lazy later this evening. I'm sitting at work and hoping that audiences are enjoying today's film releases. On my way to work today I picked up another cup of my new favorite drink from Starbucks! If you're a tea guy like me, you'll love this one!
LONDON FOG
- one (or two) Earl Grey teabags (or a berry white tea)
- half water-base
- cafe breve
- one pump hazelnut syrup
- one pump vanilla syrup
This is of course a variation made by one of the baristas here in Lake Tahoe. I did a little research and found some info on Wikipedia. While it may not be a new drink for everyone to experience, it is mighty delicious and I recommend you try it sometime! Considering it costs me a mere $1.85 for this drink compared to $3.65 for my chai, I think this can be considered my new favorite. Let me know if you try it!
what is your favorite coffee/tea drink? why?
Pirates of the sky, power-hungry princes and magic meet a fairy-tale story of love and adventure in Matthew Vaughn's Stardust. Kindled by a eclectic cast including Claire Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert De Niro, and a personal favorite Sienna Miller, this film takes you into a fantasy world that isn't too far from our own. American Gods author Neil Gaiman's tale makes a wondeful transition to the silver screen, drawing poetic elements like standing in the clouds and realizing them in dreamy animation.
Stardust offers a variety of themes - the tinge of adult humor and commentary, adventurous horseback chases and the continuing elements of love and promises. Up and coming actor Charlie Cox makes a likable protagonist as Tristran, his mannerisms and clumsiness build an enjoyable personality for audiences to take in. For both adults and children, Stardust is a wonderful escape from the bold and serious releases of the summer. Put Bourne on the back burner for a day, and treat yourself to a bit of Stardust.
Greetings from the comfortable corner seat of my local Starbucks! With my outlet of guilty pleasures being only a stone's throw away from work, I can't resist a big cup of chai after my day is done. We've got some clouds in the sky, uncommon for the blue skies that we have most days here in Lake Tahoe. I could sure use a rainy day. From my lovely iSight photo today my current forecast is: grungy, with a side of tired. Tomorrow's forecast is stressed (theater investors are in the booth all day). In good news, I will be previewing two films within the next 48-hours. Tonight I will be viewing Rush Hour 3, I hope the humor is a bit more original than the other two. Tomorrow night, I plan on watching Stardust with the other projectionists. If you're curious about either films, drop a comment and I will give you some early recommendations or some early warnings.
How was your day today? What's your forecast?

Where do you consider home? Is it the place you grew up; the place you're currently living? Why is it home?

My appreciation for films has grown since I've seen the procedure of how a film is assembled for viewing. My theater receives films in divided reels (generally 5-7) that are spliced together and built into one large reel that is set for playback. The building process of a film takes between 45-minutes to an hour. After each film is built, projectionists are required to screen (and to painstakingly preview) the print to observe splices and smooth playback for general audiences. This is of course the worst part of my job, sitting in a theater all to myself watching a film the night before it is released.
This is my home away from home. Either in the comfort of rows of burgundy seats or sitting by the bright (and most-definitely hazardous) glow of a Xenon projector, it is nice to say the place that I work can be hospitable.
You have $100 to spend online in the next hour. How are you going to spend it?
There are all sorts of items that I would love to purchase on the internet, but there is a certain place that I would like to see my money go right now:
"The stars are always there but we miss them in the dirt and clouds. We miss them in the storms. Tell them to remember hope. We have hope."
I'd buy my friends each a shirt with the $100. I'd tell them to read the story and ask them to spread the word. Love is the movement. We're in this world together, we should support one another the best we can.
Before I get rambling I'd like to tip my hat (if i ever wore a hat) to p.abigail for
pointing out a fun fact! Visit the wonderful search engine Google, and make an image search for "gauged ear". Who is that as the first image result? That's me! How funny! I've come a long way since those plugs, I am currently at a 0g. Some people have noticeable lobes with this size, but mine seem to be accommodating the jewelry quite well.
Are your ears pierced? Gauged? Upload a picture and let me see!
I want to take your photo!
For those of you in the greater California region, I want to take photographs of you! I am beginning a portrait portfolio and am on the lookout for willing models. I'll compensate you with an assortment of prints from the occasion, but please do not reply to this post if you're expecting money. My pockets are pretty slim! I frequently visit San Francisco and outlying areas, let's spend the day together! For further information or scheduling, drop a comment and we'll get in touch!
Coming Soon: taylorsavvy.com!
After a year of using my former portfolio web site, Grraphic.com, I've decided to step things up a bit with a new and improved place to display my work. Keep your eyes peeled, new content is on the horizon.
Let's take a moment to catch up!
How have you all been lately? Happy? Sad? Tell me all about it! I can't wait to hear from my Vox neighborhood again. With a second bout of imaginary gestures, here's a toast to an exciting return. Cheers!
Hello Voxers, I am back with some tasty banner art that I hope you will enjoy. The first, designed for the White-Gray base theme, is a fairly simple sketch of a Paris skyline. I am using this one for the time being, the text area is clean so you will be able to either photoshop any desired text inside or simply use the Vox header type. The second banner, using a bit more of a lively color scheme, is an edible-looking Pink-Pink banner for you to use. Same rules apply, if you want text on there, either photoshop it into the blank area or use the Vox header type. Got ideas for a banner you'd like? Drop a comment, I'd love to help you out. Cheers, and enjoy!
